GLOBAL OTUREACH ACTIVITY AND CAMPAIGNS SUPPORTING NUCLEAR DISARMAMENT

Abstract: non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, as well as their potential emergence, remain an important element of the global security system. In addition to the five nuclear-weapon states, India, Israel, North Korea and Pakistan possess de facto nuclear weapons. In addition, more than 35 countries, including Germany, Japan and South Korea, have the technological potential for its production. In the article, the author made an attempt to analyze global outreach activities and campaigns in support of nuclear disarmament. Global outreach and nuclear disarmament campaigns have contributed greatly to the discussion of nuclear disarmament, raising awareness of the need for disarmament. Various professional organizations have clearly stated that nuclear weapons pose an unimaginable global threat to humanity and, as such, the best solution to the catastrophic consequences of using nuclear weapons is disarmament based on the full commitment and political readiness of all states to comply with the existing international legal framework for nuclear disarmament.
