Abstract: at the current stage of development of modern states, federalization is the most relevant type. Under the Federal structure of the state, several territorial entities have a certain degree of political and economic independence, and form a single state.
The most important issue of delineation between the Federation and its subject is the delineation of powers in international activities. The article deals with problematic issues of interaction between the authorities of the Federation and its subjects. Legal relations and mechanisms of interaction between the Russian Federation and its subjects are analyzed. The combination of centralism and decentralization, the interweaving of national and territorial criteria in the organization of constituent parts, and the problems of their independence revealed in the study indicate that the process of entering the final stage of the formation of federalism is coming to an end. Timely and coordinated elimination of obstacles to the development of Russian statehood will ensure success in this direction.
