Abstract: the subject of this study is the characteristic features of the “trace pattern” of certain types of staged crimes, in particular: rapes, dramatizations in cases of road accidents, theft. The author analyzes the importance of correct and timely identification of the trace pattern as the initial information basis in the investigation of the case, the basics of all logical constructions of the investigator. The trace pattern of certain types of staged crimes changes over time, with the emergence of new ways of committing crimes and tools used by criminals in committing illegal acts. Therefore, the study of this topic is relevant at any time and, first of all, new development of some recommendations for the detection and identification of negative circumstances in the investigative pictures of various types of crimes that will be used by investigators when solving staged crimes is required.
