ACTUAL PROBLEMS OF THE ARMED ATTACKS ON THE MARITIME SPACES OF THE WORLD OCEAN

Abstract: in this article a number of attacks is considered on the maritime spaces committed in the first half of 2018. High piracy activity is now observed in the region of the Gulf of Guinea, where more than 40% of the total amount of the attacks in the world are committed. All the 114 sailors except one caught in the world were hostages in this region.

It is clear that the significant amount of the armed attacks on the vessels in the Western Africa requires the global decisions for the threats of the piracy and armed attacks at the sea.

Continuing attacks evidences that the further efforts are necessary for the decision-taking on the international global level. It is necessary to increase the security of the important navigation routes as one accident leads to the million losses, violation of the world trade, short-term growth of the freight rates, maritime insurance rate as well as suspension of the transportation on this territory through which the main direction of the world maritime trade goes.

The author expresses the proposal how the world community distributes available successful experience of the struggle with piracy in the regions of Somalia, Strait of Malacca and South-Eastern Asia on other troubled regions in the world.
